The 21st century has been unprecedented metamorphic transformation in the field of science and technology which was beyond comprehension in the previous decade. To meet this unique challenge, KIET polytechnic is embarking on several innovation in technical education and aims at autonomy in framing its own programmes curriculum to meet the emerging global needs.

Karnataka Technical Education Society (regd) was founded by  Prof. H.K.S. Shastry- a Fulbright scholar and a senior educationist. He is an engineer, Industrialist par excellence. He started his career as a teacher in an engineering college and was principle of a Polytechnic for nearly 4 decades and has made in depth study of the problems in technical education and industry and has a band of dedicated senior polytechnic teachers assisting him.

Under sponsorship of UNIDO he undertook as extensive tour to various countries to study industrial and educational systems. He is a been recipient of several awards like “Praja Ratna” conferred by the elite of Karnataka as also the fellow of international institute of integral Human sciences(Canada). He was also sponsored by Government of Karnataka patterns of technical education in China and Hong Kong.
