Ministry of Tourism and National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology has been recognizing excellence in hospitality sector by awarding under the National Awards for excellence in Hospitality Education 2008-09. Institute of Hotel Management, Bangalore was awarded for best Placement Performance .The award ceremony was held at Institute of Hotel Management, Pusa, New Delhi on 15^th April, 2009. Mr. Naveen Menon, Chairperson, Placement Bureau, IHM Bangalore  received the award from Shri Sultan Ahmed ,Honorable Minister of  State for Tourism , Government of India on behalf of IHM Bangalore.

The institute had won National Tourism Award for Best Educational Institute in 2003 and was selected as the “Best of the Best” Hotel Management Institute in the country by the Outlook-CNN IBN Survey -2008
